Lahore, Pakistan – September 3rd 2020 – Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim is set to increase his stay in the United Kingdom after being selected to participate in the Vitality Blast.
The all-rounder has been signed to play in the Vitality Blast for Nottinghamshire.
“In 2020 unfortunately we haven’t had much cricket, but glady things are getting back on the right track. And with the two T20 World Cup’s looming, it’s great to be getting even more T20 experience under my belt.” said Imad Wasim.
Imad will be representing Nottinghamshire, a county he has previous experience with. He represented them in the 2019 Vitality Blast where he took 10 wickets at an average of 16.60. “I’m really excited to be back with Nottinghamshire. I’m familiar with the surroundings and the team environment, and it’s one I really enjoy.”
“It is a great opportunity for me to prove myself as one of the best players in the World.”
Prior to playing international cricket, Imad participated in the Nottinghamshire club cricket scene. In 2007, he took 14 wickets at an average of 19 in the Nottinghamshire Premier League representing Papplewick.
“It’s amazing that 13 years ago as an 18 year old I played in the same city, and back then I hardly had any cricketing experience. Now I once again return to Nottingham as an international cricketer.”
“I really like bowling and playing in English conditions. Playing in England is amazing. As they say, it is the home of cricket, and you really feel an extra buzz when you are out on the field. I’ll try to do my utmost best to help my team lift the trophy.”
The Vitality Blast commenced on the 27th August. Imad Wasim will be available upon completion of the England/Pakistan T20 series.
